WELCOME TO CLYDE SCHOOL
Clyde School is in the heart of Central Otago on the
banks of the Clutha River near the Clyde Dam.
Fruit, Wine and Tourism are our main local industries.
Clyde School was established in 1863. We are saturated in history
with our Goldrush Heritage. Nearby is a lake surrounded by
fabulous thyme covered hills and scenic tracks which enable us to
take advantage of many EOTC activities such as aquatics, ice
skating, skiing, mountain biking and exploring the local area.
We are a U4 school with a decile 9 rating. The school roll
ranges from 130-160. We are a Year 0-8 school and have seven
classrooms operating with seven full-time teachers.
Clyde School has a close relationship between staff, students,
parents and the community. Our strengths are in the integrated,
school wide programmes and quality teaching we provide.
Teachers strive to provide well balanced learning programmes,
where critical thinking, co-operative learning strategies and
digital literacies are an integral part of our approaches.
We provide extra programmes for our at risk students and
our more able students. Literacy and numeracy have a high priority.
Clyde School is a learning community where we strive to make
a real difference for our students within a supportive, yet dynamic
atmosphere.
We aim to focus children on learning for life.
